Changwon Special City, Real Estate Transaction Trends Analysis
Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, inspected the status of land transactions on the 27th in the candidate area for National Industrial Complex 2.0.
The inspection area covered 2,480 parcels in Hwayang, Dong-eup, Uichang-gu; Goam, Daesan, and Jigae, Buk-myeon. The land transaction records from July 1 of last year to July 10 of this year included 38 cases in Hwayang-ri, Dong-eup; 51 cases in Goam-ri, Buk-myeon; 48 cases in Daesan-ri, Buk-myeon; and 19 cases in Jigae-ri, Buk-myeon, totaling 156 cases that were inspected.
The total number of land transactions showed no significant difference from the average year, and no signs of real estate speculation or illegal transactions were found. Inspections were also conducted on real estate owned by Changwon Special City officials and their families, but no violations of related laws were discovered.
Mayor Hong Nampyo stated, “In the development of Changwon National Industrial Complex 2.0, we will closely monitor real estate transaction trends to prevent illegal transactions or speculation in advance and pay close attention to ensure no irregularities occur in land transactions.” He also urged, “Citizens are requested to obtain permission from Changwon City when conducting land transactions within the designated permit area and to use the land according to its intended purpose to avoid any damages.”

‘Changwon Defense Nuclear Convergence National Industrial Complex 2.0’ was selected as a new national industrial complex candidate site by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on March 15, the only one in Gyeongnam Province. Accordingly, the area covering 3,394,270㎡ and 2,480 parcels in Buk-myeon and Dong-eup, Uichang-gu, was designated as a land transaction contract permit zone by Gyeongsangnam-do until March 19, 2026. Changwon City also designated this area as a development activity permit restriction zone to thoroughly prevent real estate speculation in advance.
