Kim Jong-un's Visit to Chinese Military Cemetery... China Praises "Inheritance of Traditional Friendship"
China evaluated North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong Un's visit to the Chinese People's Volunteer Army Martyrs' Cemetery as "an embodiment of inheriting and developing the traditional friendship between China and North Korea."
Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responded on the 26th during a regular briefing when asked about Chairman Kim's visit to the Chinese military cemetery, saying, "Ahead of the 70th anniversary of the Korean War armistice, Comrade Kim Jong Un, the supreme leader of North Korea, paid tribute to the Chinese People's Volunteer Army Martyrs' Cemetery and expressed profound respect to the martyrs."
Spokesperson Mao Ning further emphasized, "This expresses that the Workers' Party of Korea government and its people highly cherish the great achievements of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army."
Mao Ning also stated, "China and North Korea are friendly neighbors sharing mountains and rivers. The development of bilateral relations aligns with the common interests of both sides and is beneficial to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the region. China will work with North Korea to continuously promote the new development of bilateral relations in accordance with the consensus reached by the top leaders of both parties and countries."
According to the Korean Central News Agency, ahead of the 70th anniversary of the June 25th War armistice, on the 25th, Chairman Kim visited the Martyrs' Cemetery of the Fatherland Liberation War and the Chinese People's Volunteer Army Martyrs' Cemetery located in Hoechang County, South Pyongan Province.

Previously, Chairman Kim also visited both the Martyrs' Cemetery and the Chinese military cemetery on the 60th and 65th anniversaries of the armistice in 2013 and 2018, respectively.
