Kumho HT to Supply Electric Vehicle Electrification Battery Components... Accelerating EV Market Penetration
Kumho HT is accelerating its efforts to target the electric vehicle secondary battery parts market.
The automotive parts company Kumho HT recently announced on the 26th that it plans to produce BMA (Battery Module Assy) PCB ASSY, which is applied to modules for electric vehicle electrification batteries based on its recent electronic components business technology, and supply it to domestic battery module companies.
A company representative explained, “BMA is a component that supports the connection between the battery and batteries in electric vehicles and is essential for the production of automotive electrification batteries. Our company is actively pursuing market entry by expanding our battery parts lineup, following the supply of BMS (Battery Management System) PCB ASSY earlier this year and now the delivery of BMA.”
The company expects continuous sales growth as the BMA business is also being fully launched. The representative said, “We have currently signed a long-term contract worth approximately 300 billion KRW in the entire battery parts business. In 2024, new sales of about 10 billion KRW are expected from the BMA business, and in 2025, sales exceeding 50 billion KRW are projected from the BMA and BMS businesses.” He added, “Based on this BMA supply contract, our company will rise as a leading company in the new electric vehicle electrification battery business.”
