Mr. A, known to be a hotel manager, visited the hospital for rhinoplasty but suffered severe brain damage. The surgeon contacted Mr. A's family as his condition worsened, but reportedly hung up the phone unilaterally after the family kept asking questions about his condition.
Eventually, Mr. A was transferred to a state hospital for further examination, which revealed that a surgical instrument called a "clamp" (a tool used to tighten screws or clamps) was lodged in his brain. How this instrument entered his brain remains unknown. Mr. A, who was in a brain-dead state, died during treatment.
Mr. A's family filed a lawsuit against the hospital. The victim's uncle said, "We want justice," and added, "We hope the police and prosecutors conduct a thorough investigation to determine responsibility."

The Peruvian police have launched an investigation targeting the medical staff who performed the surgery. Immediately after the incident, police visited the surgeon with the family, but the surgeon was reportedly absent due to a business trip to the capital, Lima, making it impossible to proceed with the investigation at that time.
