Doosan Supports Busan Expo Bid at 'The Open'

View original imageDuring the period of the 151st The Open held in Liverpool, UK from the 20th to the 23rd, Doosan carried out support activities for the bid to host the Busan World Expo (Busan Expo) locally.
As the official sponsor of The Open, Doosan conveyed the message supporting the Busan Expo bid to galleries, local residents, and tourists through the installation of Busan Expo-related exhibits and operation of branding buses inside and outside the tournament venue, the Royal Liverpool Golf Club.
Doosan installed Busan Expo banners at the Doosan product exhibition hall set up inside the Royal Liverpool Golf Club and informed visitors about the Busan Expo. At this outdoor exhibition located along the galleries’ walking paths, Doosan displayed small heavy equipment, forklifts, collaborative robots, and more to attract visitors, with approximately 260,000 people touring the Doosan exhibition this year.
Additionally, Doosan operated branding buses to promote the Busan Expo not only to galleries but also to local residents and tourists in Manchester and Liverpool. The branding buses, fully wrapped with images of Busan Gwangandaegyo Bridge, the Busan Expo emblem, and messages supporting the bid, ran about 10 round trips daily from downtown Manchester to the Liverpool tournament venue throughout The Open, exposing the Busan Expo support message.
Furthermore, Doosan placed advertisements containing messages supporting the Busan Expo bid in approximately 100,000 free draw sheets distributed to galleries at The Open tournament. Along with this, advertisements aired through NBC Sports and NBC Golf Channel, which broadcast The Open in North America, also delivered messages cheering for the Busan Expo bid. The TV commercials are also scheduled to be aired during the broadcast of the AIG Women’s Open (formerly the British Women’s Open) held in August.

Last year, The Open was broadcast to 198 countries and watched by 580 million households, with Doosan logo exposure on TV and digital channels totaling 65 hours, 45 minutes, and 39 seconds.
