Prime Minister Han, on Weekend Heavy Rain Forecast: "Responding Assuming Worst-Case Scenario"
Prime Minister Han Deok-su instructed relevant ministries and local governments to thoroughly prepare for the expected heavy rain this weekend on the 21st.
Prime Minister Han urged, "Since rain is forecasted during vulnerable times such as late at night and early morning, local governments in the affected areas must secure sufficient response personnel and ensure thorough night emergency duty."
He also ordered, "Recheck the preparedness system for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled, and in cases where emergency evacuation during late-night hours is difficult, evacuate residents in risky areas in advance, assuming the worst-case scenario."
Prime Minister Han further stated, "In areas where continuous rainfall raises concerns about landslides, road slopes, and steep slopes, patrol vulnerable points continuously and issue immediate evacuation orders upon detecting any abnormal signs."
Additionally, he emphasized, "For flood-prone areas such as riverside walking trails, floodplain parking lots, and underground passages, immediately restrict access at the slightest sign of danger and promptly inform residents through disaster texts and village broadcasts."
