The expected weekend rainfall by region is estimated as follows: in the central region, the Seoul metropolitan area and the five West Sea islands will receive 50 to 100 mm (with northern Gyeonggi exceeding 150 mm in some areas). Gangwon inland and mountainous areas will see 30 to 80 mm (with some inland areas exceeding 100 mm), Gangwon East Coast 5 to 20 mm, Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam 30 to 80 mm (with northern and southern Chungnam West Coast exceeding 120 mm), central and northern Chungbuk 20 to 60 mm, and southern Chungbuk 10 to 40 mm.
In the central region, the Seoul metropolitan area will experience rainfall of 30 to 60 mm per hour from late night on the 22nd through the 23rd. Gangwon will have about 30 mm per hour from early morning on the 23rd until the next morning. Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam will see about 30 mm per hour from night on the 22nd until morning on the 23rd, and Chungcheong is expected to have about 30 mm per hour from evening on the 23rd until early morning on the 24th.
In the southern regions, Gwangju, Jeonnam, and western Jeonbuk will receive 30 to 80 mm (with coastal Jeonnam exceeding 120 mm and western Jeonbuk West Coast exceeding 100 mm). The western southern coast of Gyeongnam and areas near Jirisan will see 30 to 80 mm (with some areas exceeding 100 mm), Busan, Ulsan, central southern coast of Gyeongnam, inland Gyeongnam, and northern Gyeongbuk will have 20 to 60 mm, and Daegu, southern Gyeongbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo will receive 10 to 40 mm of rain.
Jeju will experience 30 to 80 mm of rain. In mountainous and southern areas, some places may receive over 150 mm. Jeju is expected to have heavy rain with about 30 mm per hour from early morning to morning on the 22nd and again from early morning to morning on the 24th. Additionally, strong winds should be anticipated. In Jeju’s mountainous areas, wind gusts will be strong enough to reach speeds of 90 km/h (25 m/s) or more for the time being. On the 22nd, strong gusts of about 55 km/h (15 m/s) are expected along the West Coast, South Coast, and Jeju, and on the 23rd, nationwide gusts of about 55 km/h (15 m/s) are forecasted.
The minimum temperatures on the morning of the 22nd will range from 20 to 26 degrees Celsius, and the maximum daytime temperatures will be between 25 and 32 degrees Celsius. The expected minimum and maximum temperatures for major cities are: Seoul 26°C and 32°C, Incheon 25°C and 31°C, Daejeon 23°C and 30°C, Gwangju 23°C and 27°C, Daegu 22°C and 30°C, Ulsan 21°C and 28°C, and Busan 22°C and 28°C. On the morning of the 23rd, minimum temperatures will range from 22 to 25 degrees Celsius, and maximum temperatures will be between 27 and 31 degrees Celsius.
