Hwasun-gun Enhances Dementia Prevention Effects Through Horticulture
Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 21st that horticultural activities were conducted in Byeokrari, Hwasun-eup, and Wonjiri, Neungju-myeon, dementia-safe villages, to enhance the dementia prevention effect through various cognitive stimulations.
This activity involved planting horticultural plants (the vine plant Scindapsus) in pots, aimed at stimulating the five senses through interaction with plants and improving fine motor skills and cognitive abilities.
In addition to planting, programs effective for dementia prevention were organized, including making frames using Scandia moss (natural moss), laughter therapy by a specialist instructor for the elderly, and oral care methods for the elderly by a dentist, receiving great responses from local residents.
