LG Chem Publishes 2022 Sustainability Management Report
Vice Chairman Shin Hak-cheol "Will Lead Decarbonized Supply Chain Ecosystem"
On the 21st, LG Chem published its 17th Sustainability Management Report, detailing its efforts in sustainable supply chain management.
In the report, LG Chem introduced in detail its efforts to build a carbon supply chain ecosystem. It included various activities aimed at reducing carbon emissions throughout the entire process, from the raw material extraction by partner companies to the production of products using those materials and their delivery to customers.
To realize a sustainable decarbonized supply chain, LG Chem derived on-site improvement tasks based on ESG evaluations conducted last year on 762 partner companies. Among them, six companies were selected and a total of 1.7 billion KRW was provided to support equipment replacement such as heat exchangers and improvements to workplace environments.

This year, the company plans to complete LCA for all products, including those produced overseas.
To strengthen sustainable management, LG Chem also disclosed key achievements in various areas, including ▲achieving 100% renewable energy transition at seven overseas subsidiaries ▲appointing two new female outside directors (29%) ▲investments in battery materials, eco-friendly sustainability materials, and innovative new drug businesses.
