Mapo-gu Holds Unveiling Ceremony for ‘Sunlight Center’ Brightly Illuminating ‘Mothers and Babies’
A center where health services ranging from infertility counseling and pregnancy preparation to postpartum care and infant health checkups are available
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) held an unveiling ceremony on the morning of the 19th on the 2nd floor of the public health center to announce the establishment of the Sunlight Center.
The Sunlight Center is a facility where health services from infertility counseling and pregnancy preparation to postpartum care and infant health checkups can be received in one place. It has been promoted by Mapo-gu since August last year to overcome the serious low birthrate issue and to enhance maternal and child health.
At the unveiling ceremony, Mayor Park Gang-su, chairpersons of the 16 neighborhood community leaders’ associations, the president of the daycare center association, and about 50 others attended to celebrate the opening of the Sunlight Center by unveiling the signboard.
In his congratulatory speech, Mayor Park Gang-su said, “We will operate the Sunlight Center with a sense of responsibility that the district will take charge from pregnancy preparation to postpartum care and infant support. We are also planning to expand the scale and promote additional construction in the future.” He added, “Rather than immediate financial support, we will do our best to create an environment favorable for having and raising children and to establish excellent educational conditions.”
