According to Yonhap News on the 18th, Mr. A (30), who is accused of killing his wife, appeared at the Incheon District Court for a pre-trial detention hearing (warrant review) held from 2 p.m. that day. Mr. A covered his face with a black hat and mask.
The press asked Mr. A whether he had planned the crime in advance, but he did not respond. He remained silent when asked questions such as "Do you have anything to say to your deceased wife?"
Earlier, at around 2:40 a.m. on the 15th, Mr. A reportedly pushed his wife, Ms. B, in her 30s, into the sea from the Jamjindo embankment in Deokgyo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon, and threw stones to prevent her from coming out of the water, causing her death.
After the crime, Mr. A called 119, claiming "My wife fell into the sea," attempting to disguise it as an accident. However, closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the area captured Mr. A throwing stones at Ms. B's head and face. Actual marks from the stones were found on Ms. B's head.

In the early stages of the investigation, Mr. A claimed, "I went to get some luggage from the car, and when I came back, my wife was drifting away in the sea." However, when the police presented the evidence they had gathered, Mr. A admitted to the charges, stating, "I committed the crime because the conflict with my wife continued, and I thought it was impossible to live together any longer."
