A 70-Year-Old Worker Spreading Fabric at Yangsan Factory Dies After Being Caught in Ironing Machine
On the afternoon of the 17th at around 5:30 PM, a worker in his 70s died after being caught in a machine at a fabric processing factory in Yangsan-si, Gyeongnam.
According to the Yangsan Police Station on the 18th, the deceased, Mr. A, was working on the day of the accident by feeding fabric between a cylinder measuring 1.6 meters in diameter and 2 meters in length, and a roller measuring 20 cm in diameter and 2 meters in length, when his upper body became trapped.
Another worker nearby, who was performing the same task, heard Mr. A's screams and urgently stopped the ironing machine, but it was after Mr. A's upper body had been pulled in.
Mr. A was transported to the hospital but passed away.
