Gumi-si Secures 41.5 Million Won from Love Fruit Lottery Fund
Community Chest of Korea Selected for 'Small-scale Welfare Facility Support Project' Competition
Gumi City in Gyeongbuk secured 41.5 million KRW in project funds as eight village care centers were selected in the 2023 Lottery Fund 'Small-scale Welfare Facility Support Project' competition.
In this competition organized by the Community Chest of Korea's Fruit of Love, the city applied with eight village care centers in the fields of 'Children and Youth Vacation Programs and Small-scale Environmental Improvement,' all of which were selected.
With the secured project funds, the village care centers plan to improve care environments by providing dehumidifiers and offer customized programs tailored to the characteristics of children and the local community, such as Gravitrax, creative math and science classes, music and exhibition viewing, horticulture, pottery crafts, horseback riding, and traditional culture experiences.
Park Kyung-ha, Director of the Social Welfare Bureau, said, "We are very pleased that children will have the opportunity to experience and gain knowledge in various fields through this project selection. We will continue to strive to improve living conditions to make the city a better place for raising children by providing demand-centered care services."
