Busan Maritime Affairs Office and BPA Operate Port Safety Culture Week
The Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, in collaboration with Busan Port Authority (BPA), will set and operate the 1st Port Safety Culture Week from the 11th to the 14th to promote a safety culture at Busan Port.
Port Safety Culture Week is being held for the first time this year based on the Port Safety Special Act implemented in August last year. On the first day of Port Safety Culture Week, the 11th, a port safety accident prevention seminar will be held at the Busan Port International Convention Center. From the 12th to the 14th, a joint safety campaign and safety inspection will be conducted by related organizations and industry groups of Busan Port for three days.
The port safety accident prevention seminar will cover topics such as ▲port safety policy directions ▲introduction to the Busan Port Safety Experience Center ▲introduction of excellent port safety techniques.
The joint safety campaign and safety inspection will include ▲pledges to prevent port safety accidents ▲promotion of port entry safety rules ▲distribution of heat illness prevention supplies during the hot season.
Yoon Jong-ho, head of the Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, said, “I hope that the 1st Busan Port Safety Culture Week will serve as an opportunity for a culture that prioritizes safety to take root at the port.”
