View original imageOn this day, Commissioner Kim presented three key directions for major tasks in his inaugural address distributed in lieu of the ceremony: ▲Enhancing economic vitality through public purchasing power ▲Comprehensive innovation of public procurement systems, practices, and regulations in line with global standards and trends ▲Establishing a fair procurement order free from illicit methods and unfair practices.
Commissioner Kim stated, “Amid severe domestic and international economic conditions, we will focus the policy tools and capabilities of public procurement to boost economic vitality and actively support government policies such as stabilizing people’s livelihoods and improving the economic structure.”
He emphasized, “We will strictly review and dismantle ‘unfair interest cartels’ that distort free and fair competition order, and concentrate our efforts on establishing a fair competitive order in the procurement market where illegal and illicit practices cannot take root.”
He also said, “Effective public procurement policies that the field needs must start with active and honest communication,” urging employees to actively engage in `communication` and bold `execution` as agents of change and innovation.
He added, “We will support all employees so that they can work enthusiastically and fully demonstrate their capabilities, and fairly evaluate and reward their achievements.”
Meanwhile, Commissioner Kim entered public service through the 36th Administrative Examination and has held key positions including Director General of Budget at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, spokesperson, Director General of Public Policy Bureau, and Fiscal Management Officer.
