Minister Lee Young Visits Namseong Market Affected by Last Year's Heavy Rain... Checks Flood Response Readiness
Lee Young, Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, visited Namseong Sagye Market in Dongjak-gu, Seoul on the 6th to inspect flood preparedness and encourage the merchants.
Namseong Market suffered damage last August due to heavy rain, with over 60 market stores submerged under more than 1 meter of water, but restoration has now been completed and normal business operations are underway.
The site visit was conducted to check the flood preparedness status of traditional markets and the rapid support system in case of flood occurrence, following forecasts of a high possibility of heavy rain this year as well.
Minister Lee toured various parts of the market, revisited the stores that were damaged at the time, listened to the difficulties experienced during the restoration process, and communicated with the merchants while also spending time shopping.
