The 100 million KRW delivered to Ulsan University Hospital will be used for the operation of the ‘Doctor Car,’ known as the running emergency room.
The Doctor Car system differs from a general ambulance, which only carries nurses or paramedics, in that it is staffed by surgeons or emergency medicine specialists and nurses who directly treat and transport patients. When a severe trauma patient occurs, the specialized medical team can transport the patient within the golden hour, significantly reducing the mortality rate.
The Doctor Car operated by the Regional Trauma Center at Ulsan University Hospital currently consists of 10 trauma specialists, 19 dedicated and support nurses, and has been dispatched 29 times since 2020, saving 23 precious lives.
Park Bong-soo, President of S-OIL, said, “Based on S-OIL’s core value of sharing, we will strive to become a company that grows together with the local community by helping neighbors in need in the Ulsan area.”
