Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Urges Caution Against Bee Sting Accidents
The Gwangsan Fire Station in Gwangju has urged special caution regarding bee sting accidents.
Methods to prevent bee sting accidents include ▲avoiding strong scents such as perfumes and cosmetics ▲minimizing exposure of arms and legs by wearing long-sleeved clothing ▲avoiding bright-colored clothing ▲refraining from sweet drinks like carbonated beverages.
If stung by a bee, remove the stinger, disinfect or wash the affected area with clean water to prevent infection, and apply a cold pack such as an ice pack.
However, in the case of hornet stings, because their venom is more toxic than expected, it is advisable to call 119 and seek hospital treatment.
