Samsung C&T Corporation, Recruiting Designers for the 19th SFDF Awards
Applications open until July 24... Winners announced in November
$100,000 sponsorship for winning designers
Samsung C&T Fashion Division's Samsung Fashion Design Fund (SFDF) announced on the 5th that it is accepting applications for the 19th SFDF award-winning designers on its official website until the 24th.
Established in 2005 by Samsung C&T Fashion Division, SFDF is Korea's premier designer support program, having discovered 26 Korean designer teams gaining global attention and providing a total of $3.7 million in support to date.
The 19th SFDF award-winning designer (one team) will receive $100,000 (approximately 130 million KRW) in support and will have the opportunity to exhibit their collection at the flagship store of Beaker, a leading domestic select shop. Additionally, the other finalist teams will each receive 10 million KRW in support funds. Furthermore, content featuring interviews and collections of the award-winning designers and finalists will be released through SSF Shop’s official YouTube channel ‘SesapaeTV’ and SFDF’s official YouTube channel.
Applications for SFDF can be submitted online or via mobile through the official website. Eligibility requires Korean emerging fashion designers who have participated in overseas collections or have overseas sales records, operating independent brands launched within the last five years, with no restrictions on age or educational background.
Samsung C&T Fashion Division conducts SFDF evaluations through internal experts such as design directors and external fashion industry experts including editors-in-chief of major domestic fashion magazines. After reviewing submitted materials such as brand information, designer introductions, lookbooks, and samples, the winners will be announced in November.
