Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) is hosting the '2023 Dongdaemun-gu Public Data Utilization Policy Idea Contest' to promote a culture of public data utilization and discover residents' policy ideas to implement data-driven administration.
The contest theme is solving urban problems or alleviating residents' inconveniences using public data. Any resident of Dongdaemun-gu or anyone working or studying in Dongdaemun-gu can apply individually or as a team. However, teams must consist of no more than three members.
Residents wishing to participate can refer to the detailed announcement posted on the Dongdaemun-gu website's public notices and submit the application form and other related documents via email to the Smart City Division of Dongdaemun-gu. The submission deadline is midnight on July 23.
The district will select winners through first, second, and final evaluations: ▲1 Grand Prize winner (team or individual), ▲2 Excellence Award winners (teams or individuals), and ▲3 Encouragement Award winners (teams or individuals), with the results announced at the end of August. Prize money totaling 1.4 million KRW will be awarded, including 500,000 KRW for the Grand Prize, 300,000 KRW for the Excellence Awards, and 100,000 KRW for the Encouragement Awards.
Through this contest, the district expects to enhance residents' understanding of public data as well as increase their interest and participation in district administration.
