Suncheon Garden Expo 'Frans Lanting Wild Nature Photo Exhibition' Held
A 24-Point Global Tour Through Wild Nature Exhibits
Suncheon City in Jeollanam-do announced that the 'Frans Lanting Wildlife Photography Exhibition,' showcasing the essence of garden culture, will be held at the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo from the 4th of this month until September 30th for visitors attending the summer expo.
This exhibition features 24 wildlife photographs by Frans Lanting, a National Geographic chief photographer and named by the BBC as 'the greatest wildlife photographer of our time,' under the theme 'In Search of the Origins of the Wild Garden.'
As the first solo exhibition of Frans Lanting in Korea, this exhibition magnificently displays the grandeur of nature by combining Lanting’s vibrant wildlife photographs, beloved worldwide, with the Suncheonman National Garden, passionately cultivated for over a decade.
Captured in locations such as Antarctica and the Arctic, Africa, the Amazon, Borneo and Oceania, and remote areas of South America, this photography exhibition introduces visitors to the origins of gardens to help them understand and become familiar with gardens, promising a unique experience unlike any other photography exhibition.
The exhibition content is organized into four main themes according to the nature of the works: ▲ Section 1. The Earth's Extremes, Antarctica and the Arctic [Poles Apart] ▲ Section 2. Africa’s Megafauna ▲ Section 3. Primates and their habitats ▲ Section 4. “Not Alone but Together: Symbiosis,” designed to allow visitors to feel the diverse charms of wildlife.
The Suncheonman International Garden Expo Organizing Committee (Chairman Noh Gwan-gyu, Mayor of Suncheon) stated, “We are very pleased to hold the Frans Lanting Wildlife Photography Exhibition at the expo venue,” and added, “We hope visitors enjoy their own world tour by viewing wildlife from around the world at Suncheonman National Garden.”
