Gyeongnam Small Business Association Urges Freezing Minimum Wage and Applying Industry-Specific Differentiation
The Gyeongnam Small Business Association and others have criticized the rejection of the sector-specific application of next year's minimum wage by the Minimum Wage Commission.
On the 4th, the Gyeongnam Small Business Association held a press conference at the provincial government press center and stated, "The announced minimum wage increase and its uniform application, without any consideration for small business owners facing a complex crisis of rapid inflation and worsening economic conditions, is like invisible violence against 7 million small business owners and their families, as well as workers and their families."

"The rejection of sector-specific minimum wage application is a result of completely disregarding differences in workers' living expenses, labor intensity, and labor productivity," they said, adding, "If the minimum wage rises again along with the rejection decision, small business owners and sectoral organizations will face extreme threats to their survival."
