Family of 4 Costs 290,000 Won... Scared to Go Due to High Waterpark Prices
Waterpark Food Prices Twice as High as Market Rates
Entrance Fees Also More Expensive Than Usual During Peak Season
As the summer vacation season approaches, parents are struggling to make travel plans due to high inflation. In particular, for water parks, which are popular destinations for families, there have been many responses saying, "The admission fees are so expensive that I'm afraid to go."
Recently, a post titled "I can't afford to go to water parks anymore" was uploaded on an online community. The author, who had visited a water park, pointed out the expensive food prices, saying, "It cost exactly 289,000 won for a family of four," and "We ordered one pizza, four drinks, and two hot dogs for four people, which cost 46,000 won."
Other water parks also charged high prices for food. According to a review posted on an online community after visiting a water park, the price of jajangmyeon sold at the water park's restaurant was 15,000 won, donkatsu was 17,000 won, and beer was 7,000 won. Although these prices are about twice the market price, most water parks prohibit bringing outside food, so consumers have no choice but to pay the high prices for food inside.
It’s not just the food prices that are high. During peak season, water park admission fees are set about 20,000 won higher than at other times. Moreover, additional fees must be paid to use items such as sunbeds, towels, and life jackets inside. One netizen complained, "I looked to buy a tube for my child at the water park, and it was more expensive than the admission fee."
