Gwangju Buk-gu, Intensive Discovery and Voluntary Reporting Period for Unregistered Birth Children 운영
On the 3rd, Buk-gu District Office in Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced that it will operate a 'Concentrated Discovery and Voluntary Reporting Period for Unregistered Birth Children' until the 31st of next month.
Children with unregistered births are left in blind spots of various systems such as education, medical care, and welfare, which can lead to cases of child abuse, making special management necessary.
Accordingly, Buk-gu plans to focus on discovering children who are not protected institutionally due to unregistered births and encourage parents of unregistered birth children to voluntarily report.
First, by utilizing crisis child discovery systems such as the e-Child Happiness System and visiting welfare services, investigations into abuse and unregistered children will be strengthened, and close cooperation with related organizations such as the local Child Protection Agency and Bukbu Police Station will be maintained.
Additionally, efforts will be focused on discovering unregistered children and promoting voluntary reporting in connection with the local community, including resident autonomy committees, neighborhood leaders, and community social security councils.
Furthermore, for discovered unregistered birth children, one-stop services including birth registration, child welfare, and legal support will be provided.
If unregistered birth children are found or suspected, reports can be made to the nearest Dong Welfare Center, and for more details, inquiries can be directed to the Resident Autonomy Division of Buk-gu District Office.
