The core of the agreement is KAIST's plan to cultivate 50 Polish master's and doctoral students as experts in defense technology from 2024 to 2030. Previously, as the Polish government pushed to strengthen its defense capabilities, the demand to nurture scientific and technological talent in the defense sector increased.
Participating companies, including Hyundai Rotem, will support a total of 6 billion KRW for tuition and research activity support until outstanding Polish students complete their master's and doctoral programs at KAIST. A Hyundai Rotem official stated, “We will strive to contribute to building trust and expanding cooperation between Korea and Poland by supporting exchanges and social contribution activities between the two countries.”
