Eco-Friendly Experience Activities at Hongjecheon and Ansan for Nature and Ecology Learning
Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seongheon) is hosting the ‘Leading EarthIN, Summer Vacation Green Exploration Environmental Camp’ for elementary school students in the community to promote local environmental education.
The camp will be held at Seodaemun Two-Wheel Environmental Center (111 Hongjecheon-ro) on July 28 from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM for grades 1 to 3, and on July 29 at the same time for grades 4 to 6. Participation is free of charge.
Applicants can register on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10 AM on July 5 through the Seodaemun Two-Wheel Environmental Center blog. The total number of participants is 30, with 15 students each for lower and upper grades.
Participating children will receive education on low-carbon practices, forming a relationship between the Earth and themselves, and overcoming the climate crisis, and will take part in environmental quizzes, upcycling workshops, and environmental board games.
Additionally, eco-friendly experience activities will be conducted at nearby Hongjecheon and Ansan to learn about nature and ecology.
Lee Seongheon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, “We expect the summer vacation environmental camp to be an opportunity for elementary students to learn about low-carbon living practices and the importance of the local environment.”

Seodaemun-gu plans to expand various environmental education programs centered on the Seodaemun Two-Wheel Environmental Center to respond to the climate crisis and promote ecological transition.
