View original imageSongpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will establish the Songpa-gu Municipal Theater Troupe to expand cultural enjoyment opportunities and foster emotional development for residents, and is publicly recruiting founding members who will contribute to the development of local culture and arts through troupe activities.
The district plans to establish a ‘resident participation type theater troupe’ to provide local residents with opportunities to enjoy culture and arts in their daily lives and create a stage where residents can directly participate, aiming to become a ‘city where culture and arts flow.’
The ‘Songpa-gu Municipal Theater Troupe,’ targeted for establishment within this year, will consist of an artistic director and lead members who have majored in and have experience in theatrical arts, as well as general members who are either residents registered in Songpa-gu or students attending schools within Songpa-gu, possessing passion and potential for growth in the field of theater.
First, paid lead members are being recruited until June 30, with appointments made after a first round of document screening and a second round of practical and interview assessments. Unpaid general members will be publicly recruited in July.
The district plans to support the operation of the ‘Songpa-gu Municipal Theater Troupe’ to provide local residents with opportunities for artistic activities and contribute to the development of culture and arts within the community.

Songpa-gu currently operates seven municipal cultural and artistic organizations, including a choir, senior choir, senior orchestra, symphony orchestra, folk art troupe, youth symphony orchestra, and boys and girls choir.
In addition, the district added that it plans to establish the ‘Songpa-gu Municipal Theater Troupe’ to enhance its status as a comprehensive cultural and artistic city.
Furthermore, the district holds high-quality cultural performances such as the Daehangno play ‘Bujangdeul’ and the opera ‘Carmen’ once a month at the Songpa-gu Community Center, and is working on expanding the cultural and artistic base and infrastructure, including plans to remodel the Songpa-gu Community Center.
