Gyeonggi-do Announces Personnel Changes for 15 Department Heads Effective July 1
Gyeonggi Province carried out a regular personnel reshuffle of 15 department heads as of July 1.
This personnel move is a measure to achieve development and innovation in Gyeonggi Province's administration. Marking the second year of the 8th elected term, it focuses on organizational stabilization while selecting and placing capable and specialized personnel in the right positions.
Gyeonggi Province reassigned Choi Byeong-gap as Director of the Safety Management Office, promoted and appointed Yoon Seong-jin as Director of the Balanced Development Planning Office, and Park Seung-sam as Director of the Economic Investment Office, thus relocating three level-2 directors.
At the level-3 director rank, Jeong Gu-won was reassigned as Director of the Autonomous Administration Bureau, Ahn Dong-gwang, Deputy Mayor of Uijeongbu, was appointed Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, Geum Cheol-wan, Deputy Mayor of Yangju, was appointed Director of the Labor Bureau, and Kim Hyang-suk, Director of the Lifelong Education Bureau, was reassigned as Director of the Talent Development Institute.
Additionally, Park Jong-min, Deputy County Governor of Yeoncheon, was promoted and appointed as Director of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Life Sciences Bureau; Shim Young-rin, General Affairs Manager, as Director of the Lifelong Education Bureau; Kim Sang-su, Secretary Office Chief, as Director of the Transportation Bureau; Kim Jong-hoon, Animal Quarantine and Hygiene Division Chief, as Director of the Livestock Animal Welfare Bureau; and Song Yong-wook, Planning and Budget Officer, as Director of the Water Resources Headquarters. To expand the number of senior female officials, Yoon Young-mi, Childcare Policy Manager, was promoted and appointed as Director of the Women and Family Bureau. Kim Ki-beom, Urban Policy Manager, was appointed as Head of the Urban Regeneration Promotion Team, and Park Jae-young, Railway Policy Manager, was appointed as Acting Head of the Construction Headquarters.

Meanwhile, through consultations with mayors and county governors, Gyeonggi Province transferred a total of nine deputy heads: Kim Hyun-su, Deputy Mayor of Suwon; Yeon Je-chan, Deputy Mayor of Siheung; Kim Jae-hoon, Deputy Mayor of Uijeongbu; Kim Gyo-heung, Deputy Mayor of Hanam; Park Seong-nam, Deputy Mayor of Yangju; Yoo Tae-il, Deputy Mayor of Anseong; Lee Hyun-ho, Deputy Mayor of Pocheon; Ji Ju-yeon, Deputy County Governor of Yangpyeong; and Woo Jong-min, Deputy County Governor of Yeoncheon.
