Full-Scale Field Demonstration of Smart Agricultural Technology Innovation Begins

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 28th that 10 companies have been selected to move into the demonstration complex within the Jeonnam Goheung Smart Farm Innovation Valley, and full-scale operation of the demonstration complex for smart agriculture technology innovation will begin in the second half of the year.

The Innovation Valley demonstration complex is a space established to enhance the quality of new technologies and products and increase corporate competitiveness through on-site demonstrations in various fields such as smart farm ICT equipment, agricultural robots, greenhouse management solutions, and energy-saving models.

Gohung-gun has entrusted the operation of the Goheung demonstration complex to Jeonnam Technopark (hereinafter referred to as ‘Jeonnam TP’), a specialized corporate support organization.

Jeonnam TP held a public recruitment for companies to move into the Smart Farm Innovation Valley demonstration complex from May 17 to June 8. A panel of expert judges thoroughly evaluated the feasibility, technicality, and business viability of the submitted business plans, and on the 28th, finally selected 10 companies as tenants.

Going forward, companies moving into the demonstration complex will receive support covering 50% of the costs incurred when using the complex, including rent, utility bills, material costs, and demonstration equipment rental fees.

Additionally, tenants can demonstrate related technologies and products in their allocated spaces and receive necessary support for professional demonstration services and equipment commercialization through Jeonnam TP.

The county will proceed with contract signing with the 10 tenant companies in mid-July, and after the contracts are signed, companies are expected to move in and begin on-site demonstrations in early August.

A Smart Farm Office official stated, “We will strive for the stable operation of the Jeonnam Goheung Smart Farm Innovation Valley demonstration complex through management plans and systematization of demonstration services.”
