Jungjinkong Activates Emergency Response System for Disaster-Affected SMEs
Preparing for Heavy Rain, Typhoons During the Monsoon Season
Utilizing On-Site Mobile Teams and Ambulance Personnel
The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 29th that it is operating an emergency response system to minimize damage to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) affected by disasters and provide rapid support.
SBC has established an emergency response system in cooperation with related organizations to prepare for damage caused by natural disasters such as heavy rains during the monsoon season, typhoons, and social disasters such as fires, and is operating a 'Disaster Support Task Force.'
According to the disaster SME support plan, SBC operates the Disaster Support Task Force, which receives and reports disaster-related situations in real time, and there are on-site mobile teams at 33 regional headquarters and branches. In case of damage, ambulance personnel, who are on-site emergency support experts, are deployed to provide rapid disaster response and damage recovery support.
SMEs affected by natural disasters or social disasters can receive support for damage recovery costs through emergency management stabilization funds. The loan has a fixed interest rate of 1.9% per annum with a limit of up to 1 billion KRW per company, and the loan period is 5 years (2 years grace period, 3 years installment repayment).
In addition, SBC plans to actively support SMEs affected by disasters by alleviating their financial burden through loan repayment deferrals and other measures for companies struggling to pay interest. SMEs wishing to apply for policy fund loans must report the damage and submit a disaster confirmation certificate issued by the relevant local government to SBC.
