Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Supply 400t of Cheonil Salt to Market... "20% Discount Sale"
Supply to Stabilize Prices Starting from the 29th
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced on the 28th that it will supply up to 400 tons of government-stockpiled solar salt to the market from the 29th until July 11th to stabilize solar salt prices.
The ministry will release the stockpiled salt to nationwide marts and traditional markets where consumers can directly purchase solar salt, considering consumer prices and supply-demand conditions.
The marts where purchases are possible include 25 branches such as Nonghyup Hanaro Mart Yangjae, Daejeon, and Busan branches; GS The Fresh Myeongil and Uiwang branches; Top Mart Daegu branch; and Suhyup Bada Mart Gangneung branch. For traditional markets, the market names will be disclosed on the Suhyup Central Association website on the 30th.
The government-stockpiled solar salt will be sold at about a 20% discount compared to the consumer price in June. The daily release volume is expected to be around 50 tons, considering sales conditions. The ministry had released 469 tons of solar salt last November during the kimchi-making season.
