Busan Office of Education Seeks Well-Structured After-School Programs for Kindergartens!
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has begun exploring ways to operate after-school programs in kindergartens more effectively.
The current after-school programs operated in all public and private kindergartens across Busan are activities linked to the curriculum, supporting children's physical and emotional health and stable growth through comfortable daily life, play, and rest after the educational curriculum.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is operating the 'After-School Play Learning Centers,' selected through a public contest, in 40 kindergartens. These kindergartens focus on operating the curriculum and after-school programs in connection, learning communities for communication and cooperation among teachers, and play-centered training for parents, striving to run after-school programs that foster communication and empathy within the educational community.
To find more substantial ways to operate kindergarten after-school programs, on the morning of the 27th, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education held the '2023 Kindergarten After-School Program Dedicated Staff Workshop for Growing Together' at the Education Research Information Center, attended by about 300 dedicated staff and teachers involved in kindergarten after-school programs.
At the workshop, Professor Seo Bo-sun from Dong-Eui University gave a lecture titled 'Creating a Child- and Play-Centered Curriculum in After-School Programs.' Professor Seo explained the educational value of a child- and play-centered curriculum and the natural connection between the curriculum and after-school programs.
