Gokseong-gun Selected for 'Local Government Collaboration Special Grant Support Project'

Solving Complex Social Issues Through Regional and Institutional Collaboration

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced on the 26th that it has been finally selected for the '2023 Local Government Collaboration Special Grant Support Project' through the Kkumnolja Playground Creation Project.

The '2023 Local Government Collaboration Special Grant Support Project' is a project that selects initiatives where local communities take the lead in collaborating with related organizations to solve complex and diverse social problems, providing special grants to support these efforts.

Starting with the first preliminary screening in April, followed by the second expert review and the third presentation screening, eight local governments including Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do were selected.

Through this support project selection, Gokseong-gun will receive the highest amount among local governments, 360 million KRW.

This collaborative special grant will be used as facility expenses for the creation of the second Kkumnolja Playground in the Ok-gwa area.

The Gokseong-gun Kkumnolja Playground Creation Project is a pledge project of the 8th local government administration, and in April, the first Kkumnolja Playground was completed earlier within Gokseong Central Elementary School.

To successfully promote this project, the county plans to form a residents' council in the Ok-gwa area and reflect residents' opinions on the playground. Additionally, to create a playground that children dream of, a 'Children Designer Camp' will be operated where children can create models of their imagined playground designs.

Furthermore, through collaboration with the Gokseong Office of Education, Gokseong Future Education Foundation, and Jeonnam Science University, continuous consultations will be held regarding the future operation of playground programs.

A Gokseong-gun official stated, “The selection for this collaborative special grant project will provide a joyful play space for children in the Ok-gwa area and serve as an opportunity to realize creative play education led by residents and children. We will continue to do our best to establish various educational infrastructures that satisfy both children and parents.”
