Gwangju Buk-gu, Accepting Nominations for the 16th District Residents' Award
On the 26th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will accept candidates for the '16th Buk-gu Resident Award' until the 11th of next month.
Since 2008, Buk-gu has annually selected exemplary residents who have contributed to building a good local community and fostering a healthy lifestyle, awarding them the Resident Award.
This year, the Resident Award will be given to a total of five recipients, one in each of the following five categories: ▲local economy ▲community service ▲culture, arts and sports ▲filial piety ▲distinguished persons with disabilities.
Nominees must have resided in Buk-gu for at least three years as of the announcement date. For the local economy and culture, arts and sports categories, nominees must have at least three years of activity in Buk-gu.
Heads of various institutions and social organizations or more than 30 local residents can jointly recommend candidates by submitting recommendation letters, achievement reports, and other related documents.

Buk-gu will decide the awardees through final evaluation by a judging committee composed of experts in relevant fields, following on-site investigations and public verification by residents. The awards will be presented at the 'Buk-gu Residents' Day' commemorative event held in September.
