Establishment of Seongbuk-style Resident Autonomy Joint Promotion Agreement Lays Foundation for Sustainable Seongbuk-style Autonomous Culture
Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) announced on the 26th that the Residents' General Assembly, which establishes and decides the 2024 Resident Autonomy Plan under the supervision of each dong's Residents' Autonomy Committee, was successfully completed in all 20 dongs.
The Seongbuk-gu Residents' General Assembly was held over one month, starting from Gil-eum 1-dong on the 31st of last month and concluding with Jeongneung 1-dong on the 22nd of this month. The event proceeded in the order of reporting on the operation of the Residents' Autonomy Committee, signing the Seongbuk-style Resident Autonomy Joint Promotion Agreement, resident deliberation and voting on project plans, and proclamation of the Resident Autonomy Plan. Performances prepared by each dong were also held, creating a festive village atmosphere.
In particular, in all 20 dongs' Residents' General Assemblies, the Residents' Autonomy Committees signed the 'Seongbuk-style Resident Autonomy Joint Promotion Agreement' together with the district office and dong community centers, pledging to faithfully promote resident autonomy activities through mutual cooperation. The goal is to realize a happy living autonomy for residents and to create a sustainable Seongbuk-style autonomous culture.
This year's Seongbuk-gu Residents' General Assembly became richer and more diverse with distinctive agenda presentations by each dong and online and offline preliminary voting. Approximately 9,800 residents participated in the preliminary and on-site voting, demonstrating strong interest and enthusiasm for Seongbuk-style resident autonomy.
Among about 500 local agenda items submitted by each dong, a total of 159 were selected through deliberation and discussion processes and the Residents' General Assembly. Residents directly selected the 2024 resident autonomy plan projects worth 800 million KRW to be implemented in 2024. The resident autonomy plans decided at each dong's general assembly will be linked to projects such as the 'Seongbuk-style Resident Autonomy Activity Support Project' and the 'Resident Autonomy Dong-level Plan Project' and executed in 2024.
