Envisioning the Future of Dongjak… Future City Redevelopment Policy Seminar to be Held on the 29th
Reborn as a Leading City in Future Industries… Exploring Development Plans Including Establishing the Role of the Public Sector and Expanding Private Participation
Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced that it will hold the ‘Dongjak-gu Style Future City Redevelopment Policy Seminar’ on the 29th at 1:30 PM in the main auditorium of the district office to explore development strategies toward a future city.
The seminar, under the theme ‘Establishing the Role of the Public Sector and Expanding Private Sector Participation for Future City Redevelopment,’ will review the achievements of the ‘Dongjak-gu Style Urban Development’ since the launch of the 8th local government administration and seek development plans to become a ‘leading city in future industries’ together with experts and residents.
In Part 1, world-renowned futurist Thomas Frey will deliver the keynote speech titled ‘Future Cities - Where Disruption & Opportunity Collide.’
Part 2 will feature two presentations: ‘Proactive Role and Positive Functions of the Public Sector for Expanding Urban Redevelopment Infrastructure’ by Professor Kim Jin-su of Konkuk University’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning, and ‘Plans to Expand Private Participation for Revitalizing Urban Redevelopment’ by Kim Seung-bae, President of the Korea Real Estate Development Association.
Following this, case presentations will proceed in the order of ▲Review of Public Urban Redevelopment Revitalization Plans (Lee Seung-min, President of the Korea Urban Redevelopment Association) ▲Future Jobs and Cities in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution (Ryu Chang-bae, CEO of Narivek) ▲Beyond Zoning Mixed-Use Development and Innovative Design to Enhance Urban Value (Yoon Se-han, CEO of Haean Architecture).
The seminar will be attended by urban redevelopment experts, related institution officials, students, and residents, and anyone interested in urban redevelopment in the district is welcome to participate.
