Gyeonggi Agricultural Research & Extension Services Conducts Field Test of Wall Greening Vegetation Panels for Cactus and Succulent Plants
The Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services will commercialize a green wall vegetation panel suitable for cacti and succulents, which it developed independently, and will conduct demonstration experiments.
To this end, the Agricultural Research and Extension Services announced on the 23rd that it installed green wall vegetation panels at eight locations, including Wolgot-dong Administrative Welfare Center and Paju Jangdan Kong Wellbeing Maru Center.
Subsequently, various cacti and succulents will be planted, and the product will be improved through surveys of consumers and managers' responses.
The 'green wall vegetation panel,' developed through research by the Cactus and Succulent Research Institute of the Agricultural Research and Extension Services since 2021, can be assembled in desired sizes for use on indoor and outdoor walls, urban parks, and other landscaping-required areas.
The integrated planting section and panel design improved the drawbacks of existing products, which made planting or removing plants difficult.
In November 2022, the Agricultural Research and Extension Services transferred the green wall vegetation panel technology to private companies, and recently, prototypes have been produced.
