"If Not Killed, Anger Won't Be Released" Jeong Yujeong Contacts 54 Female Instructors... Accumulated Anger Leads to Murder
Prosecution Indicts on Charges Including Murder and Corpse Desecration
Jeong Yujeong (23), who killed a woman in her 20s met through an online tutoring app and disposed of the body, has been brought to trial.
On the 21st, the Busan District Prosecutors' Office's dedicated investigation team (Team Leader Song Youngin, Head of Criminal Division 3) announced that Jeong Yujeong was arrested and indicted on charges of murder, corpse mutilation, corpse disposal, and theft.
The prosecution investigated Jeong Yujeong's movements, methods of selecting the victim, and the execution process of the crime from May 20, when she decided to commit the crime, until May 27 of the same month. As a result, it was concluded to be a premeditated murder meticulously planned in advance.

To analyze the motive behind the crime, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office Psychological Analysis Division conducted integrated psychological analysis and consulted criminal psychologists. They also carried out a search of her residence, forensic analysis of her mobile phone, internet search history analysis, family investigations including her grandfather, and analysis of recorded phone calls with her father.
The integrated psychological analysis concluded that Jeong Yujeong needed a target to express the anger accumulated since childhood due to an unfortunate upbringing, conflicts with family, failure to enter university and find employment, and that her psychopathic personality traits combined to lead to the crime.
No evidence was found to support the suspicion raised by some that the crime was committed for the purpose of 'identity theft.'
During the police investigation, Jeong Yujeong's psychopathy score was in the high 28 range, higher than serial killer Kang Hosoon's score of 27, but during the prosecution's investigation, it was slightly lower at 26.3. In Korea, a score of 25 or above is generally considered to indicate a high psychopathic tendency.
Jeong Yujeong sought to relieve her anger through what is commonly called a 'random killing' method, selecting a target from among unspecified women living alone for ease of committing the crime.
It was investigated that Jeong Yujeong contacted a total of 54 tutors through the tutoring app. During this process, she selected a target by considering whether the person lived alone, was female, and whether tutoring lessons could be conducted at the victim's home, making the crime easier to commit.
The prosecution explained that the victim, Ms. A, who was killed by Jeong Yujeong, met these conditions and was chosen as the target of the crime.
The prosecution also secured a murder-implicating note written by Jeong Yujeong during a search of her residence, which said, "I won't be satisfied unless I kill." They also confirmed internet search records related to 'methods of murder' and 'corpse disposal.'
Jeong Yujeong did not have a driver's license or a car during the crime, so she had no choice but to use taxis, and due to her limited social experience, she was not fully aware of the possibility of exposure to closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed in various places.
