The city designates and operates 69 supervisors across six fields responsible for facility maintenance, environmental beautification, road maintenance and repair, and other tasks to prevent industrial accidents and create safe workplaces for on-site workers.
This training focused on enhancing supervisors' safety and health awareness and strengthening their capabilities to respond to industrial accidents.
The main topics included the roles and duties of supervisors, key provisions of the Industrial Safety and Health Act, prevention of industrial accidents through case studies, and understanding risk assessments.
As the number of serious industrial accidents has recently increased even in local governments, the city plans to conduct biannual training to raise awareness of serious industrial accident prevention and improve supervisors' safety and health consciousness.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, "In a situation where interest in industrial accidents is increasing day by day, we expect this training to help strengthen the safety and health capabilities of supervisors," adding, "I ask supervisors to take responsibility and do their best to create safe workplaces for on-site workers."
