LG CNS and Chung-Ang University Establish New Department of Security... Cultivating 'Security Talent'
LG CNS is partnering with Chung-Ang University to nurture security talent.
On the 20th, LG CNS announced that it signed an 'Industry-Academia Cooperation Agreement' with Chung-Ang University at LG Science Park in Magok, Seoul, to train digital transformation (DX) specialists. The signing ceremony was attended by Hyun Shin-kyun, CEO of LG CNS, and Park Sang-gyu, President of Chung-Ang University, among others.
Through this agreement, LG CNS and Chung-Ang University will establish a new 'Department of Security (tentative name)' within the Graduate School of Security. This will be a 're-education type contract department' aimed at LG CNS employees.

The curriculum of the Department of Security will be managed by professors from Chung-Ang University’s Graduate School of Security’s Department of Industrial Convergence Security and Department of Industrial Security Policy, as well as the Department of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the College of Software, along with experts from LG CNS’s newly established Security and Solution Business Division earlier this year. LG CNS will deploy elite experts, including researchers and professional committee members in cloud security and Internet of Things (IoT) security areas such as smart homes, TVs, and automobiles, to cultivate professionals equipped with both theoretical and practical skills. Employees selected for this program, which starts in March next year, will receive full tuition support for two years. LG CNS also plans to consider promoting a 'recruitment-linked contract department' to proactively secure customized security talent in the future.
Separately, LG CNS will also strengthen its 'recruitment-linked internship' program targeting Chung-Ang University’s graduating students and master's degree candidates. The recruitment fields include ▲data analysis and AI ▲security ▲software ▲user experience (UX) roles. The company plans to expand the recruitment areas beyond the previously software-centered focus. Internship participants will be assigned to LG CNS’s operational departments for about eight weeks, where they will receive job-tailored training from experienced professionals and build practical skills. For master's and doctoral students, the internship period can be adjusted individually from a minimum of three weeks to a maximum of eight weeks. Candidates will be selected through professor recommendations and LG CNS interviews. LG CNS will conduct double-digit scale internships during both the summer and winter seasons this year.
