Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced on the 19th that since launching the Care SOS Center project in August 2020, it has provided over 8,500 services, establishing a seamless care system.
The Care SOS Center is an institution that provides short-term care services to residents who have difficulty moving alone or performing independent daily activities.
The types of care services include ▲temporary home care (assistance, nursing, etc.) ▲short-term facility admission ▲accompaniment support ▲residential convenience (cleaning, etc.) ▲meal delivery as the five main care services, along with ▲welfare checks ▲health support ▲care system guidance ▲case management ▲emergency support as linked care services.
In particular, among these, the laundry service supports large laundry items such as bedding and curtains that cannot be washed at home, providing washing, drying, collection, and delivery, resulting in high satisfaction among users.
The eligible users are middle-aged adults over 50, seniors, and people with disabilities, and applications can be made at the Care SOS Centers established in each neighborhood. Basic livelihood security recipients, legally designated low-income groups, and those with median income below 100% are supported free of charge, while other residents can use the service with a co-payment. However, the annual usage limit per person is capped at 1.6 million KRW.
