Coupang announced on the 16th that it will hold the 'Rocket Direct Purchase 6·18 Shopping Festival.'
A large-scale discount event comparable to China's Singles' Day (November 11) will take place on the 18th. Coupang stated that this event was planned to allow customers in Korea to enjoy discount benefits in line with this. The event period is from the 15th to the 18th.
According to online shopping trends announced by Statistics Korea, the scale of direct purchases from China in the first quarter was 655 billion KRW, an increase of 99.4% compared to the same period last year. Coupang explained that this event was prepared to reflect the rapidly increasing demand for Chinese online direct purchases.
During this event, popular products from representative Chinese and Hong Kong brands such as Xiaomi, QCY, and Jennicookie, as well as global top brands like Marshall, Dyson, Orthomol, and Tory Burch, will be offered at discounts of up to 70%. The top four popular brands in categories such as electronics & digital, fashion, beauty, food & health, and high-end will be provided at special discounted prices.
There will also be a 'Time Deal' where new products are sold at limited quantities with discounts every four hours. Time Deals start at 7 AM, 11 AM, 3 PM, and 7 PM. Additionally, customers can find themed sections featuring frequently sought-after product groups such as camping & outdoor, summer beauty, and perfumes, as well as a 'Clearance Special' category gathering products with high discount rates to enhance shopping convenience.
Coupons offering up to an additional 20,000 KRW discount on prices discounted up to 70% will be provided during the event period. WOW members can receive direct purchase products free of shipping fees even if they purchase only one item.
