'Preventing Domain Squatting' KISA Holds Domain Name Dispute Resolution Seminar
Discussion on Domain Dispute Resolution System Introduction and Issues Held on the 23rd at COEX, Seoul
The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) announced on the 15th that, together with the Ministry of Science and ICT, it will hold the '2023 Domain Name Dispute Resolution Seminar' on the 23rd at COEX in Seoul. KISA is hosting this seminar to introduce the domain name dispute resolution system aimed at effectively resolving disputes arising from unfair registration and use of domain names.
Recently, the demand for registration of new domain names such as '.ai' and '.co', as well as top-level domains like '.kr' and '.com', has been increasing. Cases of related disputes, including cybersquatting where domains are preemptively registered for malicious purposes, are also on the rise. Domestic dispute resolution experts will participate in this seminar to present on topics including ▲ current status of domain name registrations and the dispute resolution system and procedures ▲ key issues and topics in UDRP and country-code domain dispute hearings ▲ trends in domestic court rulings on domain name disputes.
