The Presidential Office announced in the afternoon that President Yoon invited former floor leaders of the People Power Party, including former floor leader Joo, to a luncheon at Pine Grass in front of the Yongsan Presidential Office in Seoul to commend their efforts.
This luncheon was originally scheduled for April but was canceled due to a large-scale wildfire in the Gangneung area of Gangwon Province. At that time, a wildfire broke out in the Gyeongpo-dong area of Gangneung City, destroying 379 hectares of forest and damaging 101 facilities, including houses and pensions. In response, President Yoon declared Gangneung City in Gangwon Province a special disaster area and instructed Acting Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety Han Chang-seop to "make every effort to support recovery so that the affected residents can quickly return to their daily lives."
