Busan City will make every effort to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo in conjunction with the Korea vs. Peru national football team A-match friendly scheduled for June 16.
Busan City is making every effort to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo in connection with the A-match friendly between the national football teams of South Korea and Peru.
View original imageThis promotion is designed to create nationwide enthusiasm and spread support by leveraging the popular A-match game among global football fans to vigorously promote Korea’s passionate bid and the candidate host city, Busan, ahead of the 4th presentation by competing countries at the 172nd General Assembly of the International Bureau of Expositions scheduled for the end of June.
In particular, this promotion?from the design of the bid promotional layout to its placement and final rehearsal?is carried out entirely through the voluntary participation of the Red Devils cheering squad and Busan citizens, expected to demonstrate the sincere and fervent desire of the Korean people to host the event.
First, before the match begins, the Red Devils cheering squad and citizens will perform a large banner display in spectator section N, featuring a banner measuring 30 meters wide by 20 meters high with the 2030 Busan World Expo bid promotional message.
This large banner performance will be the first of its kind at the Asiad Main Stadium since the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup, so it is expected to have an even greater promotional effect.
Additionally, in spectator section E (E2 to E11), spectators will showcase a card section performance related to the Expo, conveying to the world that every Korean citizen is united in supporting the 2030 Busan World Expo bid.
Using the stadium’s internal LED A board, the video “Busan is good for EXPO 2030” will be played repeatedly for a total of 5 minutes?2 minutes and 30 seconds during the first half and 2 minutes and 30 seconds during the second half?promoting Busan’s new city slogan and the 2030 Busan World Expo. Large banners with the same promotional message will also be installed inside the stadium to enhance the promotional impact.
Furthermore, during the halftime breaks before and after the match, the promotional song and video featuring the bid ambassador “Baby Shark” will be broadcast repeatedly, allowing families, friends, couples, and people of various ages to join in supporting the bid.
Before the match, educational and football experience promotional booths related to the World Expo will be operated for on-site spectators to expand public consensus on the bid.
Notably, life-sized cutouts of world-renowned football players “Son Heung-min,” “Lee Kang-in,” and “Jo Gyu-sung” will be installed at the promotional booths, along with linked social media (SNS) promotions for the 2030 Busan World Expo. An event offering 2030 Busan World Expo merchandise through football games will also be prepared.
This football match against Peru is the first friendly A-match in four years since the June 7, 2019, friendly between the Australian and Korean national teams. It was secured through the efforts of the city, the Korea Football Association, and other football stakeholders to raise excitement for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid.
