Drunk Driving in Gangnam by Man in His 30s... Chain Collision with Taxis
A man in his 30s who caused a chain collision involving taxis while driving under the influence in the heart of Gangnam, Seoul, was arrested by the police.
On the 13th, the Suseo Police Station in Seoul announced that Mr. A (36) was booked on charges of drunk driving.
At around 2 a.m. that day, Mr. A is suspected of driving under the influence on Gangnam-daero in Seocho-gu, Seoul. While driving under the influence, he rear-ended a taxi waiting at a traffic signal. There were a total of two vehicles damaged. Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was reported to be at the license cancellation level.
As a result of the accident, Mr. A complained of back pain and was transported to a hospital but was not seriously injured. Two taxi drivers in their 60s and a female passenger in her 50s were also unharmed and returned home from the scene.
Immediately after the accident, a fire broke out in the engine compartment of Mr. A's vehicle. Police officers and citizens at the scene extinguished the fire within five minutes using a fire extinguisher.
