‘Embracing Goheung Yujahyang’ Yujabat Farm Party Receives Positive Response

Farm Party Popular Among City Residents in Yuja Jusanjie

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that, as a major production area of yuzu, it held a ‘Yuzu Orchard Farm Party’ on the 10th at Yangri Village, Pungyang-myeon, with about 150 participants including applicants for yuzu tree distribution and village residents, to increase external awareness and revitalize the tourism industry by distributing Gohung yuzu trees to urban residents.

This farm party event was filled with various activities such as ▲ attaching name tags to ‘My Yuzu Tree’ ▲ watching Samulnori and acoustic guitar performances ▲ challenging the Gohung Golden Bell quiz to learn about Gohung’s history and culture ▲ taking instant photos with ‘My Yuzu Tree’ ▲ making yuzu mist experience ▲ enjoying a delicious lunch under the shade of yuzu trees, receiving great responses from participants.

In addition, the farm party was linked with local experience and educational farms as well as tourist attractions, leading to extended stays and providing unforgettable memories for urban visitors.

The county plans to invite urban residents who received yuzu trees to the ‘Gohung Yuzu Pomegranate Festival’ held in November during the yuzu harvest season, where they can harvest yuzu from their own trees and participate in a hands-on yuzu tea making experience.

An urban resident who participated in the farm party with their child said, “It was very enjoyable to see the yuzu tree I received in person and enjoy various farm parties with my family, and it was a time to fully appreciate the beauty of Gohung,” adding, “I want to visit Gohung again during the fragrant harvest season to harvest yuzu from the tree I received.”

A representative from the County Agricultural Technology Center said, “Through the Gohung yuzu tree distribution event, we will do our best to widely promote yuzu, Gohung’s representative specialty, to urban residents to raise interest and help increase farmers’ income.”
