Boseong-gun Initiates Installation of Fire Safety Facilities for Fire-Vulnerable Groups
Support for Residential Firefighting Facilities in 3,600 Households
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 9th that it has begun distributing three types of residential fire safety equipment to approximately 3,600 fire-vulnerable households in the area.
By next month, in cooperation with the Boseong-gun Volunteer Fire Brigade Association, they plan to distribute three types of equipment?powder fire extinguishers, standalone smoke detectors, and spray fire extinguishers?to fire-vulnerable groups.
Additionally, along with the installation and distribution of residential fire safety equipment, they will conduct training on fire extinguisher usage and fire prevention education to strengthen residents' initial fire response capabilities.
In particular, this year, support will be reinforced for inhabited islands such as Jangdo and Haedo, and ‘Alleyway Fire Extinguisher Boxes’ (tentative name) will be installed in villages where fire trucks have difficulty accessing, actively working to prevent large-scale fires.
Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, stated, “One fire extinguisher at the early stage of a fire can have the same effect as one fire truck, so initial response is truly important.” He added, “We will do our best to achieve 100% distribution of fire safety equipment to fire-vulnerable groups to protect the lives and property of our residents from fire.”
