Jeongeup-si Announces Contest for 'Smart Farm Greenhouse New Construction and Renovation' Until the 28th of Next Month

Jeongeup-si, Jeollabuk-do is calling for applications until the 28th of next month for the ‘2024~2025 Smart Farm Greenhouse New Construction and Reconstruction Project’ to promote smart farms with environmental control capabilities in the facility horticulture sector.

According to the city on the 9th, this call targets farmers, agricultural corporations, and producer organizations who wish to build new automated vinyl greenhouses linked with ICT convergence technology or demolish existing old greenhouses and reconstruct them into smart farms to cultivate vegetables and flowers.

New construction and reconstruction are possible for greenhouse areas ranging from 0.3 to 2 hectares. Steel frame glass greenhouses receive 3 billion KRW per hectare, and pipe vinyl greenhouses receive 750 million KRW per hectare, with support provided as 20% national funds, 30% local funds, 30% loans, and 20% self-funding.

Applicants wishing to apply can submit their application documents to the town, township, or neighborhood community service centers at the project site from the 17th to the 28th of next month during the application period.

Yu Gi-o, Director of the Agricultural and Fisheries Distribution Division of the city, said, “This project will not only modernize greenhouse facilities and strengthen agricultural competitiveness in the facility horticulture sector through ICT technology convergence but also greatly contribute to establishing a foundation for digital agriculture that reduces labor for farms, responds to climate change, and produces and supplies high-quality and safe agricultural products.” He added, “We plan to actively promote this so that local farmers and agricultural corporations can participate in the call.”
