Hamyang-gun Conducts Survey on Installation Status of Convenience Facilities for Disabled Persons
Activation of Facilities for the Disabled
Purpose of Utilizing Basic Policy Data
Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is conducting a three-month survey on the installation status of facilities for the disabled starting from June 7.
This survey is conducted every five years under the "Act on the Guarantee of Convenience for the Disabled, the Elderly, Pregnant Women, etc." (hereinafter referred to as the "Convenience Act for the Disabled, etc.") to secure basic data for policies promoting facilities for the disabled.
The survey targets facilities where construction activities have occurred since the enforcement date of the Convenience Act for the Disabled, etc. on April 11, 1998, including parks, apartment complexes, public buildings, and public-use facilities, totaling 332 locations.
The survey method involves two investigators visiting the target facilities within Hamyang-gun to check whether the following are installed according to standards: ▲intermediate facilities (main entrance access routes, parking areas) ▲internal facilities (entrances, corridors, stairs or elevators) ▲sanitary facilities (restrooms, bathrooms) ▲guidance facilities (braille blocks, guidance and information equipment).
The results of the full survey will be reported to the county by September, and non-compliant facilities will be ordered to improve through corrective orders.
